Communication: The email address we use is what you put on your Registration Form. Please make sure we always have your current email address on file. We send out monthly newsletters with important information on them and attach order form or notes going home too.
Advancement Policy: Students are placed in classes according to their age and ability at the time of registration. Promotion is considered on the basis of individual achievement at the discretion of the instructor.
Class size: Classes must have at least 5 students participation to keep the class open. If a class has more than 15 students enrolled, it may be split into two separate classes at the teacher’s discretion.
Class Arrival and Departures: Please arrive at least 5 minutes early to get ready for your scheduled class. We ask you to walk your child into the building for class and that you walk into the building to pick your student up after class. For your child’s safety, students will not be allowed to wait outside the building. Please do not drop off students early and leave. Instructors will only be accountable for students when class begins.
Supervision: Students are not allowed to be left in between classes unattended (or siblings), they must be supervised all of the time. Also, students are not allowed to bring friends to dance class.
Class Observation: Since the studio does not have a viewing window, we will periodically have the parents in the waiting room come in to see the progress of the student(s). Videotaping a dance to help their student(s) practice at home is encouraged. We also have a monitor in the lobby for you to view the dancers as they are in class. Please do not come in the classroom during a class unless there is an emergency.
Restroom: Please have students use the restroom before class begins each week. It is disruptive to the instructor and students to have to stop a class for students to use the restroom during class.
Recitals: I.H.S. will have two recitals each season (September-June). A recital in December and one in June to close out the season. We would like all our students to participate in both recitals.
Recital Costumes: Costumes for the June recital are selected by the instructor and are able to view (pictures) after Christmas Break. Notes will go home with the costs for each costume and the payment due dates. Each student must have a costume to participate in recital. Please notify instructor if your child does not plan on being in recital. Costumes will be handed out once June tuition is paid in full.
Fundraisers: Students will be able to participate in fundraiser to benefit the dance studio and to help pay for costumes for recital. Information will be coming home during the dance season.
Closings: In the case of an emergency or extreme weather, it will be listed on Facebook or you may also call the dance studio at (269) 209-4287. Please be advised that In His Steps does not close when schools close for severe weather. We close based on current weather conditions at that time (4-8pm). If a class misses more than 2 classes due to weather conditions, classes will be rescheduled.
Scheduled Days Studio will be closed: Halloween - October 31st Thanksgiving Break – November 22nd & 23rd Christmas Break – December 25th – January 5th – Classes resume Monday, January 8th Spring Break – April 2nd -6th Memorial Day – May 28th

Conduct: The studio reserves the right to dismiss any student or parent whose conduct is disrespectful to other students, teachers or property.
Miscellaneous Notes: No food, drinks or gum in dance room at any time. Children must be supervised at all times in & out of dance studio. Birthdays and other holidays are celebrated at the end of class. If you would like to bring a treat please let the instructor know ahead of time. Parents, if you plan on leaving during dance class please be on time picking your child up promptly when class is over. Be courteous to the dancers while in class by keeping your children in the lobby quite. Please do not bring in toys that will disrupt students, parents or other children in the lobby.
